  • Unixaaron - excellent psychosis... 9-11 and autism: you hit a grand slam of quackery. My suggestion is to put the meth and the Night Train down and back away from the keyboard.

  • Yo, I could use almost a million US in pocket money. Where do I sign?

  • Actually spectacularpenguin correct. And you are simply repeating the myths perpetrated by the anti-vaxers. Your point about a link between autism and bowel disease is a red herring. Wakefield specifically claimed to have found a possible link between MMR and autism and was confident he'd be able to confirm this in a few months. But he never did because the link doesn't exist.

  • @benjamitheblue. The feeling's mutual, mate. I have no axe to grind for one side of the other. I've no idea why you assume I've done no research. In fact, I've read everything I can find about Wakefield both pro and anti and am satisfied by the evidence that Wakefield is guilty on several counts.

The GMC investigations is not yet complete so of course they haven't taken action against Wakefield yet. Doh!

  • Strange. You seem to think that business is some sort of conspiracy; even when it's known that the money Wakefield received went to the Royal Free Hospital and was held in trust for the research. Patenting your research findings isn't a conspiracy; it's normal, necessary practice. I guess we'll now have to stop all researchers from doing research since they are all paid and plenty by law teams doing advocacy law. Standard biotech deal to develop treatments for sick kids and it's suddenly JFK?

  • I really hate it when stupid people think they are smart.

  • This sickens me .. so much twisting of words and facts. Shame on you.

  • Andrew Wakefield was a rising star. An award winning doctor. In this industry, grudges are held and memories are long. To me he is Robin Hood. Forget the £435,000, even if he had bought himself a house, it would be nothing compared to the money he could earn as one of the country's best talent. He risked it all, & the silly thing is, he believed in vaccinations, just seperate ones for safety, until more research was done, instead of giving six million doses of 3 live vruses & it all going wrong

  • You saying its bad to receive £435.00 funding? Again like the guy above..a twist on words. MMR producing pharma can FUND scientists to study, but A.W is paid to find a link? Sounds like the difference between Freedom Fighters and Terrorists lol God this is like a game of chess, but with words. Drives me mad

  • "For the vast majority of children MMR is fine, but I believe there are sufficient anxieties for a case to be made to administer the 3 vaccines seperately" - The exact quote at the damaging press conference - not "I am confident I have found a link between MMR and Autism and will prove it." - You see where I am going? You are twisting words . Sufficient anxieties mean better safe than sorry - more research needed - we dont know yet. Not your manipulative way of putting it.

  • Cripes, yes! I don't even remember making that post but obviously I meant £435,000.

  • (Except that I think the figure should be thousands not millions!)
