Writing on the Wall's annual Pulp Idol competition showcases new and emerging writers This unique competition is aimed at dragging would-be novelists out of their garret and into the public eye. There are a series of heats followed by a Final where writers get the chance to present their work to our panel of judges. The 2010 judges were Luke Brown (Editor, Tindal Street) and authors Helen Walsh (Brass, Once Upon a Time in England) and Ramsey Campbell (Told by the Dead, Grin of the Dark).
The winner meets a publisher and also receives a place on a five day writing residential at Ty Nywdd, the National Centre for Writing in Wales. All finalists have their work published in a book of First Chapters printed by Writing on the Wall sponsor RayRoss Printers.
Entry to Pulp Idol is free so if you're working on a novel and want to get yourself into the running to meet up with a publisher and maybe see your work in print, then this is the competition for you.
