Tornado Sirens, Manhattan, KS - June 11th

Primeira vez que as sirenes tocaram na noite em que um tornado atingiu Manhattan.

First time that I've heard the sirens that night. After that I've heard it two more times and decided to look for a shelter. Few minutes after the third one the tornado hit K-State University.

With that being said, having the right equipment and tools at the right time are probably what is going to keep you the mose safe. I have a pretty simple setup myself, laptop, wireless internet, GRLevel3 radar (soon with GRLevel2 Analyst Edition) gps on my laptop and gps on board, and my camera. Just enough to keep me on top of things but not enough to get in my way.

There is ALOT of things that go into becoming a "storm chaser". Of course capturing that moment is a thrill and can be very rewarding, but also remember that these are the same things that kill hundreds of people each year. Programming is going to probably get you farther than video design will. Please please PLEASE make sure that you learn as much as you can before you are ready to chase. Forecasting is just as important as the chase itself.
