as I was involved in this show, I can tell you exactly what happened: a very wealthy/spoiled young theatre lover asked his Daddy for money to spend on a huge production before he knew how to put one on. 100 people quit their jobs and worked for him to make it happen, then his father backed out, he left Taipei, and ran off to NYC, and left everyone high and dry. His name is mud here, and no one will try anything as ambitious again, but the young performers went on to smaller and better shows...

I think this is great!! But I think you need to have seen the original, so you know what is really going on.

Very well done, I won't lie. I enjoyed it.

@Tokanawa true... unless you are in the philippines... no one dare to produce a theatrical production without being financially backed.... that is why weseldom have shows in CCP and PETA...

I'm very impressed at how well they carried it off. Great diction for Chinese actors.

So you think that men dressing has women with exaggerated-make up and women singing in frightfully high pitch voices that just makes you want to blow your head up? you think its enjoyable?
I love the Asian trying to sing soul in the beginning.

No freakin' kidding. Chances are that this company isn't as financially backed. Keep in mind that theatre isn't too huge in Asia. So stop stating the obvious and go watch your Broadway.
