  • While, like most viewers, not expecting organ music, the video and is well done, and the music is a nice touch to the video itself. And if the point of the video is to give glory to the Triune God, it did that.

  • @burkardhanis Thanks for "getting it". Most of the people who have commented seem to have missed that concept. For those who have posted comments which bear false witness against me- let it be understood I do not hate Byzantine music - that is not what I am about. Anyway, a video is not "Church" nor should it take the place of Church. It is simply a visual expression of personal sentiment and NOT intended to proselytize or introduce dogmatic statements to non- Orthodox. Christian or otherwise.

  • Video is great. Dump the organ music. Makes one feel they are in a Protestant church. Insert orthodox hymn singing instead.

  • I feel like I'm at a Renaissance fair. o_O

  • Thank you. The music was GREAT and all music was created by the Lord and for the Lord for all good things come from him. People want Orthodox music to suit their own needs for worship and not the Lord's. Lovely video!!!

  • This is NOT Orthodox. Orthodox words but we do NOT use organs or any musical instruments. Our music is a cappella.

  • I think that it is a nice video, but having a different music selection that is American friendly byzantine would be nicer.

  • Disappointed.

Thought I was going to hear "Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, Have mercy upon us!" with beauty and holiness.

Yet again, inappropriate use of western music for eastern prayers and they don't gel.

Theosis only comes by the gifty of God, and by the passing on of The FAITH unchanged by innovations of the west! Isn't that why most of us from the west converted? Ours is NOT a performance relationship! (I will not use the word religion, as what we were given by Christ is not!)

  • LOL not at all. I am an american convert to the orthodox church. We don't "hate" anything. At least we shouldn't hate anything, we should despise sin though. Anyway, to be Orthodox is to embrase the church as a whole, including the bysantine chants we chant every sunday. I just don't believe its possible to convert to Orthodoxy and hate the music.

  • I have to say that the organ music is not appropriate for an Orthodox video of one of the most moving parts of the Liturgy in the Church.

  • Is this a fair comment? Do most American converts "hate" Byzantine music? Not saying you are wrong, just respectfully requesting your substantiation.

I am not a convert, or a Christian at all, but I hold the Byzantine, Slavic and Arabic Orthodox musical patrimonies in the highest regard.
