  • Lightroom is a photo management tool. It is designed for photographers to streamline their workflow. You can do most of the manipulation you need without having to use photoshop.

  • when people say that all those models in magazines are photoshopped, i think there wrong... there lightroomed!

  • No, its nothing like Photoshop. Photoshop is not an asset management system, it doesnt do meta tags, doesnt have collections, doesnt do slideshows or web gallerys. Lightroom doesnt do pixel level editing, doesnt have layers. So Lightroom is an image processor, Photoshop is an image editor. There is a distinct difference.

  • The files themselves are not "edited", Lightroom creates a set of steps that you used to create whatever look you are going for and then renders jpegs when you do the export process.

  • i never used lightroom it has always been photoshop

Q so can you edit raw in photoshop and save in lightroom as the same image or do you have to save as copy and what about jpegs for the web do you have to save several files of the same image?
