Here's a basic application of sankyo from a punch to the face. Nothing fancy, just basic aikido. Yes, there are millions of other variations, but this is just what I was showing at the time...

  • look i do hapkido its korean its the same as aikido but aikido is japenese but anyway getting to the point all this stuff like flipping your opponent and all that is for people who know what there doing and practice perposes if you did this to someone in the street you will cause intense injury cause of the motion your bending and twisting his wrist and arm

  • @mothtohtheflame I'm sure you agree whit me if I told you that the Samuraï were one of the finest warrior of this world. Well, the Aikido was the martial art used by the Samurai.

  • @ajdoman317 flip...spin...turn...whatever the dancing terminology is, i'll make sure to stretch properly and put on some leg warmers when i face the sixth dan tango master

  • @mothtohtheflame bet you woudn't say that to his face you'd be flipped so hard on your back you'd piss your pants

  • This is just a pretty dance. Worthless...

  • @FreestyleCodShots In Aikido training, uke doesn't usually look for the counter punch during technique; uke looks to 'blend' with where tori wants to go. Hence you see uke move around and roll forward at the end. If this were a real situation, Sankyo would be performed slightly differently with the intent to snap uke's wrist immediately. Speed and Power would be applied, as would a slight change to hips and entry angle.

  • @FreestyleCodShots Indeed. But this is not a flaw of the move, but the master. If he were to perform sankyo in my club he'd get one to the kidney right away. Overall Gary Boaz (the guy performing the move) tends to be very arrogant in his interpretations of techniques. However if performed properly, tori will be out of uke's range. Oh, and sankyonage also seems somehow unbelieveable. Once again, the master's flaw.

  • what is sankyo
