A different take on the ThunderBirds Theme, this time by 60's band, The Shadows (minus Cliff).

Music originally composed by Barry Gray.

Arrangement - The Shadows

The original Thunderbirds Theme by Barry Gray is fantastic, and The Shadows haven't changed much - but I reckon it's instantly recognisable as a Shads instrumental.
I've added some stock scenes & pics from The Thunderbirds series (and a few of The Shadows & The Andersons) - just to make it a bit more interesting to listen to for those not so 'into' the musical style of The Shadows.

While I'm tapping away, I'd like to thank Gerry & Sylvia Anderson for creating some WONDERFUL kids shows back in the 60's - what a great time to have been a nipper!
And we still love 'em now.

  • Wasn't this used in one of the 1960's "Thunderbirds" movies??

  • @soniclady89 Called 'Trapped In The Sky'...also my son's favourite. He's 5.

    Peace.

  • VERY GOOD!

  • i don,t love the thunderbirds bad the shadows are great love this song

  • Great vid but you needed a pic of The Shadows with John Rostill in it as he was in the recording and this was recorded later than Licorice Locking bass

  • I went to see Cliff & The Shadows at The 02, Sept 09 - and I can tell you - they were absolutely FAB!

Tight as a drum, they didn't miss a note - Hank was awesome, Brian Bennett played drums like an animal, and Bruce was as cool as ever!

    Great night!

  • Compare The Ventures with this: watch?v=yZym0tSSZgQ

  • The Shadows were the act that Brian Epstein took The Beatles to see to shown them how it is done.

The Shadows were No.1 group until 1963. They were rock-solid musicians. They remained the top instrumental band until they finally split in 1991. I think that this was from their 'Burns' period.

  • @HITTHESKINS This is great, but I think the Beatles were fine musicians, as evidenced by their effortless adoption of different styles, and clever key changes. In particular, McCartney is surely one of the best bass players in rock and pop - and no mean shakes on the guitar either (he played the solo on Taxman).

    Me too!
