Published on Apr 16, 2012

On April 16, 2012 at around 17:45 UT (1:45 EDT) a M1.7 flare peaked. This flare originated from an active region just about to come over the eastern limb of the Sun. On April 15 this area produced another large coronal mass ejection. Neither eruptions appear to be Earth directed - however, this active region might have some future events in store.

@Rodney100100 It depends on which segment you are looking at. The entire event was about 1 hour. So if you do it real-time, you are sitting there for that time.

well it can cause power grids to fail, so yes. Like Quebec had problems once, but I think if a huge one comes, the most vulnerable places will be shut down, so hopefully only temporarily
