A montage depicting the current economic crisis as well as the 1929 stock market crash.

Songs include:
(1) Brother Can You Spare A Dime
(2) Sixteen Tons
(3) Money

I don't claim to be an economic expert ... but some things take on a common sense attitude (of course 'common sense' is a relative term).

Special thanks to Mike who helped with some of the current day clips.

  • A few months ago I would have said we've come a long way from Rockefeller handing out dimes on the streets of Lakewood NJ; now I'm not so sure.

    Very skillful use of montage.

  • Thank you Hawk ... a few months ago I thought the same. Seems the big corporate giants aren't even doling out dimes these days ... but wanted our hard earned $ so they can continue lining their pockets ... and just where did that bail out bill land us ... right where many of us thought it would ... the prices in the grocery stores are overwhelming ... even basic food staples those with children or on fixed incomes need to survive ... shame on these profiteering jerks!

  • Totally agree.

    That's called personal responsibility

something many out there are still in need to find within themselves....

instead of point the finger and blame others for their own poor choices.

  • Well said!

  • Yes, we can blame big corporate giants all we want and they do bear much of responsibilty for the current mess... however we ourselves must share the blame too, by indulging our self-gratication to purchase things we simply could not afford.

The banks were only too happy to give out loans to people they knew had very bad credit to begin with. And now we are paying for it.

  • right on...
