Payam Akhavan: There Is No Home for Non-Aryan Peoples in Iran

On July 25, 2009, Payam Akhavan (Iranian Human Rights activist) addressed a crowd in Amesterdam touting the importance of peaceful demonstrations in Iran's pro-democracy movement. This video clip shows Mr. Akhavan stating that there is a home for Persians, Kurds, Lurs and Baluchis, who are descendents of the Aryan race (Indo-European language speakers). He, however, fails to recognize a home for Turks (Azerbaijanis and Turkmen) and Arabs. In a time when racial sensitivity is increasing in Iran, human rights activists must respect the importance of ALL ethnic groups in Iran. This video is but one example of racism that is intrinsic in Iranian society.

Many Iranians abroad , living in USA, were humiliated since the hostage taking and even got worse after 9/11, they have been verbally abused and humiliated ,so this is their defence mechanism , to call themselves Aryans and feel European, these people represented themselves as Italian , Greeks and even Turks when they went out and met people. fortunately we had the green movement and now they are again proud to call themselves Iranian
