Backstage Update: Batista's WWE Return?

We reported several weeks ago that Dave Batista's recent talks with the Strikeforce MMA promotion fell through once UFC bought them out. TMZ.com later confirmed this with a report on their website.
According to The Wrestling Observer, the general feeling is that although Batista's MMA aspirations are not dead yet by any means, most expect a pro wrestling return sooner than later. The door is considered open for a Batista return to WWE should he want it.
According to a backstage source, WWE's creative team has talked about a Batista return in recent months. Most expect him back in WWE at some point as noted. Keep in mind though that no deal has been agreed upon as of this writing.
