Jack Layton has fallen down a credibility hole of his own digging. Ever the humble communicator, he is crediting his father for helping to design wind turbines and helping to come up with the idea that we could mobilize wind power and giving him credit for the origins of windpower on the Gaspé Peninsula.

But that is only the beginning. He goes on to bring his brother Rob into the picture and continues to espouse his families role in creating what he guesses was in some ways, the first hybrid car.

The problem is, as the Toronto Star reports, when Jacks sister Nancy was asked about this part of her families history after climbing on the Layton campaign bus, she smiled and said the family invention was news to her. (http://thestar.blogs.com/notebook/2008/09/hybrids-are-a-l.html)

First he tries to turn himself into a Canadian Obama, and now it appears he is taking a page from another prominent US Democrat, Al Gore, who, like Layton, over-stretched his own credibility when he suggested he was responsible for inventing the internet.

  • We never did, there's one Edmonton, but that's Edmonton. There's some in B.C., but they like marajuana a lot.

  • Jack is so proud to state that he has voted against the government for 45 times in a row. In there were some good laws but that didn't matter to Jack. Just like this budget, he stated he would vote against it before he even knew what was in it. That is not the way an inteligent person would act. That is the way the village idiot acts.

Ontario tried NDP once and if you remember, it was a nightmare, Jack would do the same for Canada.

The days of NDP are over, the west will stop voting NDP.

  • Say your forgetting The Hon. Robert Layton was a member of the Mulroney government. Something Jack forgets.

  • Layton is the only hope for Canada. It's time to break the Status Quo and move on to fix our country.

  • Al Gore world famous environmentalist who won the Nobel Price for his understanding and advocacy on climate change.

Jack Layton (granted no Nobel but...) Jack has deep green roots - written several works about pollution and how to curb our waste and pollution - active at the municipal and national levels. Chair of Toronto Enviro Task Force, first president of Toronto Atmospheric Fund - pioneered the Better Buildings Partnership which has green retrofitted 500 buildings so far.

  • Using Rovian tactics on Jack eh?

    Ok let's play...

  • Say, wasn't Jack's dad graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering from McGill?

Say, didn't he work as a mechanical engineer for over 35 years?

Say, wasn't he also the president of Montreal-based engineering consulting firm T. Pringle & Son?

Say, weren't consulting engineers involved in the construction of early wind mills in the Gaspe?

Say, isn't this video just another lame smear against Jack Layton? Yeah. Yeah, it is.
