  • Just a warning... my hedgehog had this exact same wheel. Within 2 months it somehow broke, then flew off the base and either broke his leg or sprained it badly. Also, one of his nails broke off causing his foot to bleed. He couldn't walk on it for almost 2 weeks before it started to heel. Anyway, I'll never get another Silent Spinner again. I'm looking into a Wodent Wheel or something a little more safer and robust.

  • Thank you for your comment.

I know the same accident in Japanese Heg owner said.

    I take care his nails.

  • Thank you very much!

Now I am crazy for him!:)

  • @fringelife

I have one, I didnt trust the stand either, I just didnt use it..and bolted the wheel onto the cage. I've never had any problems...its never fallen or anything.

  • @justinruleseverythin it is natural for a hedgehog to go to the bathroom on the run and there is really nothing you can do about it

  • @love2RODEO1 The plastic wheel shown in the video above is perfect. Metal hamster wheels aren't safe for a hedgie's bones.

  • @fringelife I have had mine for over a year now.

  • i got the same wheel for my hedgehog, but he keeps pooping on it ;( i hate cleaning it everyday. he ONLY poops on the wheel...

  • @samdewfoo how?

  • @kalereborn Haha, my hedgehog does also poop and pee on the run every night.

One morning, we found a perfect round ball of sh!t inside the wheel :-p

Anyway, I have to clean the mess up every day ....

  • @love2RODEO1 Old post but don't use a hamster wheel, use a solid wheel with no holes or bars in the actual wheel. Bars or holes in the wheel could and probably will allow your hedgehogs leg to get stuck in there and possibly break a leg.

  • @fringelife My parents just cut a plastic bucket in half, one of those tall ones and I guess for a wheel bearing they used a roller skate wheel and some PVC piping for the stand, works great aside from the fact that the wheels need to be cleaned every week. Our hedgehogs loved to run the wheel and poop on the run.

  • are hamsterwheels safe for them like the medle kind im looking at a hedgehog and i just the best forr himm like every hedghog owner!! :)
