Whatever your, uhm, bent, you gotta love these guys. At one point the mighty Marina Vella (nice initials), resplendent in smeared mascara, grabs an audience member's cam and takes a picture of herself with a primal exhilaration
that makes her come off like Nikki in "Times Square", or that chick in "The Name of The Rose" (both good things).

When she takes a front row fan's hat and spectacles and puts them on and he one-ups her by throwing his flannel short over her head she has the final say, gyrating in front of him insouciantly...it all makes for the most potent mix of sexy and goofy you could ever witness in a museum. (Nice one, Flavorpill) Part Linda Blair, part Ozzy, part wasted party girl, part girl-woman, part tomboy, Marina delivers new wave yelps, dry-humps the two males in her trio, and flails the mic like a phallus which she then props up on her breasts -- all of which make her the kind of performer dorks like me love to write about. But the ladies in the front row were enjoying every bit of it and in some frames (sorry it's all so dark) you see them matchin the singer, move for move.

This trio are alright, they rock a latin freestyle groove like it's 1984, and the mustached dude's smirky arty demeanor reminds me of the cat from Sparks. Around the six-minute mark as a funky tribal chorus kicks in, 'dude becomes a living Goya and she rolls her eyes back and in the red glare becomes a gorgeous, wild zombie, then bruh'man holding the soundsystem down wails into the mic for a shattering climax...a crazy night at the museum.

the originAL LINEUP. Marina Gasolina had to leave and spread her wings and is gonna be a bigger star on her own. Like Joan Jett after the Runaways, and the late Poly Styrene after X-Ray Spex. It took two women to replace her in Bonde Do Role, and they unfortunately don't come close. Marina is a true rockstar, I love that chick
