Something is rotten in Denmark, and Prince Hamlet must search for truth and justice...but who can he trust? Onstage at Folger Theatre, April 21 through June 6. Learn more at www.folger.edu/theater
I agree this trailer makes it look like a B-grade TV movie version of Hamlet. Making a movie trailer style from a theater production just doesn't work. The performances are meant to be seen from a distance, up close they look too over the top.
I'm still looking forward to seeing it on May 27th!
I agree with mcandjo. The performance is MUCH better than this trailer. It is a nice try, however, to do "multi-media" publicity for theater. C+ at best for the trailer, A- for the play.
This trailer does not do the performance justice. I have seen the production & will see it again. This trailer, with crazy music & short takes of scenes, scares me. If I saw the trailer, before having seen the production, I would have chose not to go.
What I like about this production is there seems to be an honest attempt to give the audience Shakespeare. Once you get use to the set & costumes they disappear, and you are left to focus on the tragedy playing out before you.
