I have the same braille note I love it.

Continued - It did have speech, but it was the very mono-tone robotic drone speech of old screen readers. It of course had no internet capability as nothing did back then, zero multimedia functionality, and aside from it's ancient word processing abilities, it was essentially a huge talking braille calculator with a simplistic phone book and calender. It's only programs were on a floppy disk type disk that went in the side.

Very nice! These things have come a LONG way since I was back in school. In middle and high school, my VI teacher had (what was then the latest and greatest technology) which was the great, great, GREAT grandfather of this device - the BrailleMate! It was about an inch thick, measured about 8 inches long, by about three wide, and only had a single cell display between the three and four cell keys. It's memory was less than 1 MB, (I'm not sure of the exact specs).
Did they ever update KeyChat? If I remember correctly, that application was very limited in supported clients at launch.

@rml695 I am unsure of that because the internet at school here is so not letting my device connect. Will get back to you on that when I find something out.
