  • There was a recording in Chicago Walter Hawkins did on Saturday June 26, 2010. I am not sure if it was Love Alive VI but he did record.

  • @draamom I'll have to check that out.

  • This is a beautiful song no1 can sing it like Mother Shirley... What Album is it on?

  • It's their first live family album "The Hawkins Family".

  • I heard there's suppose 2 be A Love Alive 6 recorded this year is that true?

  • Eh, I'm not sure. They've been saying something about a Love Alive VI for years now. So it's fairly unpredictable.

  • @LoveForSure82 -- Your Cousin Shirley is the BOMB!!! I don't think singers even gospels singers today sing with the feeling they did back then. Its hard to stay perfectly in tune live but they put everything into it and just killed it with all there hearts. Believe me i LOVE people like Kim Burrell,,she's a Monster of Monsters, but i miss all that feeling that just took you to another place back in the day. Thats what music is purposed to do to you,, Lynnette and your Cuz,, those R my Gurls....

  • Dont pay them no mind... they Dont understand if it Weren't for Shirley Singing this song in the First place there Would be no monique Walker version!!!

  • The first family of gospel always ripp it up. The gospel of the 80's like the Hawkins Family, Commissioned, Phillip & Brenda Nicholis, and many more, will never be replaced with this commercialized gospel music of today.

  • I wanted to play this song, this way, since I was 9 years old. Churches in the New Orleans area wasn't up to this style of music. They didn't know what they were missing. At least we had the album.

  • So true...people are just singing today. If I don't feel it, I know it's not from the heart. The devil is deceiving people in any way he can. There isn't anything wrong with keeping it real.....

  • is there a Shirley Ann Hawkins that's related to them with a daughter named coreen or corrine becasue she looks and sings just like her!

  • Beautiful song,my first time hearing the original.I heard Monique Walker sing it,love it!!! I like the original,it's a powerful song!!!

  • I always loved this song. It always brought me tears. What would we have done if we never tried Christ.? Lynnette was my favorite singing this song. What a voice!

  • Love this song as a child. Sound soooooo good

  • I remember when this album came out. I was 9 or 10 years old. This album gave me so much hope and this song taught me to cling to God. I was being sexually abused and just wanted the pain to stop. I played this album so much, sometimes in silence, just listening to the words. Didn't know they would be the catalyst to my unyielding faith in God.

  • This song is so beautiful. I can see why Vickie Winans did a remake of it. Sing Shirley, Sing!!!!! Praise GOD!!!!!!
