I "learned" lucid dreaming when I was young to get out of my nightmares.... very ironically since I tried to use more lucid dreaming techniques, I never had a lucid dream again

Giant frying pan? lol, i'm pleased to say that i never had the dream reoccur where the water heater was chasing me down the back yard trying to spray me with hot water. If it does happen again, i've lucid dreamt a couple of times before, so i can just tell it to fuck off.

@WildCardFive You can learn to resist that. It's a little tricky, but I've found that if when I start to lose the dream (like when it starts to go black or stuff from real life starts breaking through), it helps to make an extra effort to move around more in the dream. Running or spinning seem to work well. Sometimes the visuals will stay out for what seems like a few minutes, but usually it'll come back if nothing else interrupts. I avoided waking for a ringing phone once.

I've had lucid dreams before - its amazing but if you try to exert too much control over it you'll end up waking up and ruining it. And good luck getting back.

@R3demp7tion i think in a lucid dream stste your brain works 100% in a dream i saw a math problem college level and asked for an answer and when i woke up i searched for the same problem and it was the answer that was in my dream im only in 7th grade and math isnt my favirite subject

If I don't drink alcohol before I sleep, then I usually have horrific nightmares. During this time, I can "lucid dream," somewhat. I often try to wake myself up, but this is usually impossible.
