thats a pretty cool idea you have there.

@willcp00 I'm talking about recovery type pulls. It's safer and less stress on your transmission to pull forwards. A trailer isn't resisting, just heavy.
-
Can also use a 4-foot length of 2x6. Put the chain or strap over the top of the 2x6 and when you pull with the truck it will pull straight up on the post.

I cringe when I see people pull things while in reverse. Always pull forward. The forward gears are stronger than reverse gears.

@G4Disco I guess you are not allowed to back a trailer up a hill then?

I would actually like more details to use pulling out concreted mailboxes -- what do you mean by "trampoline", and is this a 4" wheel rim like would be on a wheel barrow?

@bmccown1 I cut up an old trampoline and welded it together in such a way that it created a structure to transfer the horizontal motion of the tow strap into an upwards motion to pull the post out of the ground. It's a 4" wheel from harbor freight that I stripped the tire off of.

@bmccown1 I posted a follow up vid linked in the description above. Let me know if you have any other questions.

another method is to use a spare fullsized pickup tire (bigger=better) with a metal chain at the lowest as the ground can let ya.
now that is the red necks style.
