20 augustus 2011. Op de 30e editie van het Prinsengrachtconcert sloot sopraan Eva-Maria Westbroek traditiegetrouw af met 'Aan de Amsterdamse grachten.' Meer klassiek op http://www.klassiek.avro.nl.
@parthoven The song title 'Aan de Amsterdamse grachten' translates, in this instance, as 'To the Amsterdam Canals' because the chorus goes, 'To the Amsterdam canals, I've given my heart forever, Amsterdam fills my thoughts,
As the prettiest city in the land'. Written in 1949 by composer Pieter Goemans, the song has since been sung and recorded by many artists.
Brava~~! I always liked the mood of Prinsengracht Concert. Surrouneded by the public and the water, and the boat and honk sounds~ It's very romantic~~ I wonder what is the name of this song in English? I don't read dutch. I can see this song is dutch traditional and it's very enjoyable song. I've seen several Prinsengracht Concert on Youtube and this song is alywas the finale and this version is very well arranged, specially ths brass sound with vocal in 1:00 around, it's really wonderful~~
