I think a lot of women use feminism as an excuse to be sexist against men. It is sad how it's overlooked basically all the time. The really sad part is I think most women are ENCOURAGED to have sexist thinking. I have had a number of teachers throughout elementary/middle/high school/college who all jokingly push sexist ideals. As a female myself, I find it extremely disheartening.

ANYWAY I love that he turned the plastic bag inside out to pick up the purse almost like it was poop, lmao.

Some forms of feminism are as you describe. Certainly the loudest sects are more about girl power than true equality, but there are many legitimate forms of feminism that should not be discounted. Unfortunately, rational people belonging to the latter are berated and belittled into nonexistence by the aggressive members of the former.

Ideally, this is true; but sometime in the '00s, the movement was hijacked by a much more aggressive form of feminism which has very little to do with seeking equality. The fact that this new sect has categorized themselves within the "free-thinking atheist" framework is alarming, mostly because despite their approach to feminism being entirely ruled by dogma, it's actually working.

I grew up as a short, scrawny, liberal, bisexual nerd in rural Montana. I know a lot about discrimination. My entire childhood was defined by it. As a result, I've spent my life fighting for equality between genders and races and preferences, so it's really hard to stomach it when I'm told I need to "check my privilege." And it's so hard to see so much intolerance coming from people who claim to be fighting that very thing. Thank you so much for saying this.
