What happens to people who are having seizures? This patient has auras and he also had the Temperal Lobe Resection and still had seizures.

  • I've heard that having an episode is like doing a 3 hour intense workout in a gym thats why they are so tired when they come round... is this true? also arn't you meant to put them on their side so they dont swallow their tongue?

  • @jbirr15 Yeah, it is like having a marathon. I get so tried and the muscles are warn out. Sometimes I bite on my tongue not swallow. The main thing that you need to worry about swallowing is blood.

  • I want to ask u, do u use any medicine for that? do u have it regularly? what is the situation when u have it? my brother has the same seizures and he uses depakine and it works but some time he get bored of it and leave it then his seizures comeback to him, he gets that when he get really tired or over worried about any thing and when he has less sleeping time

  • @hbz241 I take 3 types of drugs for my seizures -- Vimpat, Tegretol, and Depakote. With the drugs, I haven't had one since August.

  • First I want to say I am sorry you are having to go through all of this! But I ran across this today and this is the only video or only person that I seen that can relate to that has EP like mine!! Or that I can relate to! Even though mine are not so server.. They do start the same way yours did in this video all the way up till 6:11 mintues.. so thank you for posting this so I can now show my doctors what happens when I have my EP fits! Happy Valentine's Day! :D

  • @pmiller1214 You are so welcome! This is the biggest reason why I put it on YouTube.

  • I'm epileptic and have had several grand mal seizures growing up, and I have to say this was the best video I've seen that shows what has been described to me. My aura (almost exactly like a petit mal seizure) and the end of the post ictal phase is all I can ever remember, and seeing it happen to someone else totally connected with me. I almost cried during this video knowing that my family and friends have had to go through this so many times. You have my best wishes.

  • i was ice skating the outher day and i fell and smashed my head and had an epileptic fit on the ice i had no idea what these were until now i just woke up in a hospital not knowing whats going on. Thanks for uploading very interesting :)

  • Also, hope you feel better soon! <3

  • I am really sorry that you are having these types of seizures. I had my first one on December 22, and it definitely does a toll on you mentally and physically. I start my meds after my EEG next month, I am super nervous, but I hope it helps. When I woke up from mine, I had paramedics over me, so I had mine for a good minute. Also bit my tongue to where I couldn't talk well for 2 weeks. The temporal lobe is also where I started the headaches, and now seizures. Scary. Looks like we get same meds.

  • @pmbronson thanks for reply I hope u get better soon

  • Get well very soon...... :)
