@Danny77uk Very true. More than twenty years ago (I was then a kid), I've worked with GEOS v1.2 on a C-64. And now that I have a Mac, I realize that I've been working with a simili-very-old-version-of-Mac-OS even though I never knew it.

@Danny77uk Apple bought a license, but not an exclusive one. Witch is why Micrasoft was able to buy one too. So the developers of Geos could have bought there own license to use that style.

@GreatNorthWeb Except it wasn't - Apple LICENSED the Xerox IP. They paid for the concepts (Apple stock). It was all legal which is why there was never any lawsuit.

@Danny77uk mac os was such a blatant ripoff of the xerox ALTO I'm not surprised about the lack of lawsuits. Xerox just gave it all away. wiki/History_of_the_graphical_user_interface
