I owned a 77 244 in the mid 80's.
I'm not too surprised this one started up.

Hello - do you still have this '82 Volvo, and if so, is it still alive?
I have a '96 Volvo 850 but it only has a mere 87k miles on it. It's my summer car so it doesn't get to accumulate a lot of miles. I have my daily driver - a '99 Volvo S70 - for that. It's currently at 105k miles.

My friend just bought a 1980 240 volvo that has also been parked for 8 years. Did yall clean out the fuel system or anything before trying to start it? We are goin to replace any rubber item that is cracked or worn as well as the alternator and starter just in case they are seized. But the car looks just like it sat for 8 years and in very good condition, just needs some sun shine LOL!

No, we just added a little fuel cannister to the carburettor to start it. Afterwards we cleaned up the tank. I thought we even replaced it by another tank..but i'm not sure anymore.Much succes reanimating this beautiful type of volvo!! :-)
