I must add, there were some interesting runabouts in those days; Ventnor, Switzercraft, Higgins (a molded plywood hull with straight 8 Buick engines) Barnescraft (Ford flathead V-8) and lots of Centurys. You can see a Ventnor here on YTB; just enter Ventnor boats.
My brother's girlfriend's parents had a cottage on Lake Hopatcong (Pitney Point on the north end). Her dad had a Chris that looked very similar to this one. We water skied behind it many, many times. We lived in Martinsville. Fond memories.
thanks for the beautiful ride - grew up & water skiied on lk hopatcong - so many fab memories

I AM JEALOUS. My dad had a custom-built 1957 Clyde African Mahogany boat with a Evinrude Big-Twin 35 horsepower 2-stroke outboard engine.

I had a 1956 just like yours!! Love the sound of that flathead 6. Wish I still had it....Gave it away for 1000 dollars! in 1981.

i love the boat, but I would think that flag in the front flapping like that would get old real quick.
