  • Thanks for posting. Its really nice to see a person interact with horses the way you do. You set a wonderful example of respect and appreciation for the horse's point of view. Priceless. Oh, yeah, and the info on trimming is good, too.

  • @salemdog100 ....thanks for stopping by and hopefully sharing the information. I have been involved with natural horse care for a lot of years now. I think owners should seriously consider maintaining their own horses feet. Just think of it as an extension of grooming. I try to break it down so that its not a big job. Have a great 2012!!! Dawn

  • I don't say this very often but I really like your video and your style and your obvious admiration for your horses...like you mentioned finding appropriate heel height can be a little rough sometimes. I like personally like basing it on the live sole plane. Check out Pete Ramey's page for a really good article on the down sides of leveling both sides of the heel visually. It's called "toe and heel length"

  • @burrejo ...thanks so much. Actually I totally implement Pete's suggestions on heels. Maybe I should make a little heel video. I began my trimming career with the "live sole plane" but got away from that. THE TWO KEY POINTS in my view. 1) Health of the frog 2) How challenging is your ground. I wrote a Post on Frogs for Easy Care that might be of interest. All my posts are under Notes From the Field. I will check out the "Toe Heel Height" TX!!!

  • Wow, your videos are great! Very clear and helpful! Thanks(:

By the way, your horse is precious!

  • @korskibear ...thanks so much for your kind comments. Yeah, Sunny is my love. We are joined at the hip. He is now teaching me a lot about healing. Have a great horsey life!

  • @McCormickfahrer I'll try to sugar coat this.....you're wrong...I'm a farrier and I'd rather have her to trim my horses feet than 99% of other people who butcher the sole and frog...she did it right!

  • @Nizingur YES

  • Your videos are awesome! :3

  • Thanks you very much. I am glad you stopped by. I am actually taping the trim of a rescued TB broodmare today. Will get that up as fast as I can. Keep trimming! Luv-Dawn
