Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared this morning at the Summer meeting of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Accompanied to the stage by NARUC President David Coen, he was introduced by California Public Utilities Commission President Michael Peevey. While we could only load a few of the "Governator's" introductory remarks, you will agree with us that without his notes he is highly retentive of facts, charismatic, compelling, humorous and articulate.
Check out minute 16:40 of this longer video to see the Governor use populist, name-calling techniques to demonize the oil and gas industry. He is speaking to regulators who applaud his emotional rhetoric--challenging their commitment to rational, public interest decision making.
