I need one since I print/read over 200 pages per week. But I decided to wait for the next generation: these readers aren't good enough yet, especially for PDF viewing.

The Kindle DX price has dropped from $489 to $379. I still haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to get one. But, the price drop is significant.

thnx blebull. My post was at least informative and made sense to people who read it. Your post makes no sense yet you say I am retarded. If you don't have anything constructive to say don't post.
Hmmm, I'm not sure of the difference between a book and a computer, perhaps you can spend a day or two explaining it to me?

@zacbelle wow what a retarded post, does your iPad have eInk screen? no? Do you know what the difference between a book and a computer is? The same as between Kindle and iPad.

Thanks for this review! I am glad the Kindles do not have a backlight (muuuch easier on the eyes in terms of glare and eyestrain, etc.). I DO wish the price would lower on the DX like they eventually did the K2! I'm saving my pennies to buy the DX soon. I need the larger font and the larger screen. For now,got the Free PC Kindle on my Netbook. Oh and Kindle has NO MONTHLY FEES like IPAD DOES!

Spending just a little bit more for an intuitive , progressive, exciting product like the ipad that can do infinitely more than the Kindle makes sense to me. Only benefit I can see from the Kindle is the unbelievably long battery life. Probably shouldn't say this but if you know where to look you can get "extremely" cheap books on the Ipad. and I don't know why someone says the ipad has monthly fees. just hook it up wirelessly to your internet connection.

@edoneb Ya but the IPAD has monthly fees to really use it to full capabilities. The Kindle does NOT.

At least I'm not deep-throating Steve Jobs and his iPad. Tell me, how does it feel to have a nice big hot billionaire load from Steve Jobs blown all over your chest after you're finished deep-throating him?
Mmmmm....
