This is just... way too slow. I mean, it sounds great, but it's meant to be much faster than this.
-
@ Kristina: See my comments below! It was the "safety mode" for the first public try. If you type "warp35", you see us during a later concert singing it "4-times faster". People liked both modes, by the way.

It sounded really good, I am learning this in my choir...and i feel like shooting myself in the face. Its so hard, but we are singing it like four times faster lol
-
Yes it does go faster, see my comment below. We have another recording of the the song here under "warp35" where the tempo is much faster, nearly too fast for my choir.
-
it sounded nice though.

im singing this in choir this year. doesnt the song originally go faster?
-
Lol that's hilarious, I don't think I could hold it out anymore than I all ready did :)
-
was copland there? Im in high school and our chorus just sang with an orchestra at a symphonia and the conductor had us sing this quite a bit faster than what you guys are and our conductor was really perticular about the ending. he actually had us hold the chaw for like a beat and a half and had some kids yell like yipee instead.
-
I'm singing this in chorus. :)

@philtheyeti
As the choir sang with me playing the piano and not conducting, I chose a slower tempo for safety reasons, but you are absolutely right - I got it too slow!
The end is written as 1 beat for the choir, but the piano shall sound for more than a bar ... maybe, your conductor found a better solution for the choir end. Don't forget, that these songs were originally written for a soloist.
