@minasgekos I don't think he planned on playing it that fast at the very end. It seemed to me like the orchestra sped up at one point and it caught him off guard. He was still able to adjust though and it sounded great.
I think that was why he shook his fast at the conductor. Maybe not though.

I swear, I thought I saw him playing with his nuckles at some point. I, as a bassist, couldn't imagine myself playing this in my dizziest daydreams...
Truly divine.

You so tired. Seems that bad condition.
But bravo.

all these crazy bassists are crazy. unbelieveable how hard this has to be on the double bass since its extremly difficult on cello already!

@lkarr92 He doesn't make mistakes, but he really struggles to keep up with the fast tempo, so it gets sloppy around 5:30-5:35 (just an example).
Anyway my comment wasn't a clever one (it happens a lot on youtube, and unfortunately it happens to me also) and that was 8 months ago. Now I agree with you. He's super double-bass player, end of story. Cheers.

@minasgekos the point of playing this piece on bass is no one has ever done it. he wanted to show that he could play a tough piece for cello, then play it on bass to further show his skill. that is the only point. appreciate it. don't rip on it. and did he make any mistakes? if so i'd like you to point them out to me. and you're right. it doesn't add anything to the original piece. he wasn't trying to. and of course it sounds better on cello because the piece was intended to be played on cello!!

I had trouble playing this on the cello! I can't imagine ever playing this on the bass (check the right spelling of bass, folks). This fellow is truly amazing.
