8V71 Open Exhaust in french GMC Astro

Un route de campagne Lorraine, un bruit infernal : Detroit Diesel in action !
Un copain me fait faire un tour avec sa dernière acquisition... GMC Astro de 1974, ex transport Marmeth de Nantua.
Le moteur n'est pas un "banal" -6V92T mais bien un vrai V8 sans turbo, un rageur 8V71 qui permet une conduite sportive, et libère pleinement en échappement libre.

A few french companies did experienced the Detroit engine on Willeme trucks (as the GM-engine importer bought thisd french truck builder) and just wanted the GM-machine further.

As Willeme stopped trading, the transporters Wauthier and Marmeth did import the GMC Astro new for their own use. This particular one is maybe the older one as it dates from 1974.

It now only used for fun as an historical truck.
