Most of these places were closed down because they were finding better ways to treat them mainly through drugs and therapies and more involvement of family and close friends to their re-intergration into mainstream living ,maybe not on a scale that would fully intergrate them but at least keep them out of these institutions, some will also say as anything the Government could not afford to run them all as well and that we do have some dangerous people out there,but some could be psychic maybe ?
