This is interesting and stuff, just thought I'd point out:

1. Statistics can be and ARE massaged to show anything you want, dont believe any data unless your willing to spend the time to read all the details etc. Its across-the-board BS fed to all races and nations.

2. Better reffer to these as American prejudices & misconceptions etc. All this stuff pertains mainly to afro Americans and the way other Americans view them. So dont make it a black & white thing. Its a local American issue...

American issue? I gotcha. And I agree with that. The problem we so called Black Americans have is that American media portrays us in a negative light in hopes that,

1 - we view ourselves in a negative light, and

2 - that the rest of the world views us in a negative light

Not everyone but Many people, of all groups including black, outside the U.S. and inside the U.S. are naively convinced the falsehoods about us are true.

i personally do not care what negativity they put out there about my brothers. I will ALWAYS LOVE THEM NO MATTER WHAT! black men are and have always been hard working, intelligent, loving, wonderful providers, and good fathers. In the mid 70's today's young black women's great grandmothers warned today's black grandmothers that they could not be smarter than God and their grandparents, they warned today's black grandmothers that they would suffer a disaster for trying to raise kids on drugs and without men and today the result of today's grandmothers turning their back on their elders has been the total destabilization of the black community and the isolation of 4th generation strong totally independent black women.

I grew up at the nucleus of this messes unfolding and where these problems are coming from is the fact that Welfare Recipients who have been drug users all of their lives created what is now 4 generations of throwaway children by having as many kids as they could for bigger welfare checks and the media put the cameras on these people and sensationalised them into the definition of the entire black race. And today, there are videos and books on "The Black Girl Curse" all over the place.
