This is absolutely brilliant. I think it's Tony on lead, and he does well here.

My parents some other family members used to play a game. They had this postcard of the Spinners and whenever they went to visit another family member, they'd hide the postcard and tell them when they left "The Spinners are on you." and they had to find the postcard and give it back in the same manner. It was last seen somewhere in Wales. Hahaha.

Also "The Alaska" not "near lasker" It's a Clipper Ship....
A. Scouse (again)

Agreed, "Main Skys'll set" and "Up tops'll Harriers" a Harrier is scouse for runner, so "Up Topsll runners"' not up tops and higher
Signed, A.Scouse.....

It's 'Main skys'll(as in sky sail) set'.

I always loved this song (not sure how much I must have embarrased my family at the tender age of five coming out with things like "Lay aloft Paddy, ya son of a whore" - LOL)

Thanks, great song .This is my 95th Spinners song collected. Most of them I recorded from the radio on an old cassette recorder so quality not good enough to upload.Saw them live at Princess Theatre,Aldershot on their farewell tour.Simply THE best and sadly missed.
