Here is the finished glass marimba, and me playing the toccata part from toccata and fugue in d minor. The only reason that B flat hit a another note was because the tape broke there. But otherwise, I fixed the problem with the notes hitting each other and the pegs. Und jetzt weiss ich genau wie ich es besser machen kann.

  • I see legs but no resonators? They made them out of cardboard for years during WW2 I bet they would be pretty easy to make.

  • @Cayko09 it's a box resonator. The aluminum boxes are the resonators.

  • Very creative, i think this probably the most clever thing I've ever seen anybody do make mallet instruments from material that you find at home. The most other clever thing, is making an instrument from scratch that saves you a lot of money from buying a manufactured marimba. Very Clever!

  • I'm trying to make this instrument too. THe glass resonated beautifully uncut, but then after cutting it (rather poorly...because me and my partner are ...amateurs), it just STOPPED resonating. We have no idea what to do! HELP!

    (yours sounds great, btw)

  • wow , thats awesome
