Hey Gang!
Thanks so much for all the decent questions. It ended up taking me 4 vlogs to answer them all, so if you left a comment in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO_-gKryy1E
I should have answered your question.

UNLESS your question was about movies and/or comic books - I'll make a vlog answering those questions on my 2nd channel - TaishaJason - which is where I talk about movies all the time.

And if you're looking for my SUMO videos, then go to my All-Sumo channel:

More info on Intellivision:

If I do this again, I'll have to go all BusanKevin on ya and walk around some interesting part of San Diego while I answer so you have something more diverting to look at while I talk.

Thanks for watching!

  • Good for you to have such a splendid flight entertainment. I strongly advise you to never fly with Lufthansa, because they don't have all this. What they have is a TV set at the ceiling and after one full movie your neck's gonna hurt.

Ha, you play Risk! I got tired of Risk because it's too much luck-oriented. If you roll well, you win, if you roll badly, you lose, no matter how good your strategy might be. "Ultimate Risk" seems a better choice. Or "Axis & Allies". Gotta love that one.

  • Dude! I love Axis and Allies! Same company made a Japan based game that is similar called Shogun - good fun!

  • LOL, How many times now have you had to tell ppl that you don't eat fish or sushi?

  • way too many... :)

  • Joust on the Atari... Legend!!!

Funny that he said that games scare him. For me, the players these days scare me. I'm 24, female and sexual abuse I get from like 13 year old boys is obscene. And I try to avoid US players because that level of trash talking and something you can't even call innuendo from grown men is often uncomfortable especially when they are old enough to at least be my father.

Gaming is a scary place these days...

  • Thanks for the feedback, Jason. Your Q+A series is very helpful, I hope you will sporadically (at least) continue it in the future. Too bad about the seafood thing- but I imagine hamburger suteki and "curry" dishes are popular especially if you have childhood memories of England. PS: my screen name haha when I signed up , seems every name I chose was taken so I got frustrated and made up something weird. PPS: Go Chargers!

  • Thanks for the mention. I am actually thinking about whether or not to continue on and do my PhD here or back in the US... decisions, decisions!

  • I played Shôgun once, in, uh, some time between 1991 and 1995. I'd really like to play it again, now that I understand the historical and cultural backgrounds better.

And you should really check out the "Risk" version by Hasbro. It takes away the dice and adds some awesome features such as 180 areas, different theaters, generals, strategy cards, fortifications, and weather. Now there's no way a handful of desperados can defeat a vastly superior invasion force by rolling several sixes in a row.

  • thanks for answering my question ^^, and my family had an Atari when i was younger it was always fun ^^.

Loved playing risk with my brother too, the board game though ^^.

anyways thanks again oh and you made me laugh when you said my screen name it's just girl not Giri :P

  • You should try the Civilization games for the pc when you can, they're great fun!

  • well it's kinda like here in America - you don't meet many 40 year olds really into comic books but regular folks know about them from movies like Spider-Man and Iron Man and Dark Knight. Not many Japanese folks over 35 are that into manga and anime, but they all know about it and probably did enjoy them as children.

Anime/manga is just the gateway drug that seduces many young Westerners into Japanese culture, but as Kev said there are many other aspects as well.
