  • This is crazy this is my Greeeaaaaaaat great uncle and my grandfather told me about him his name is Omar Michaux he can be found on Facebook and my name is Destinn Michaux I can ive found on Facebook as well as "Deejay Michaux" I thought he was lying but apparently he wasn't!!!

  • Love this tune - thanks for posting the lyrics!

I wasn't even close, but I dig the melody and syncopation ~

  • I lived at Ft Belvoir, VA in the early 50's and my parents listened to his radio program every Sunday. I'm sure it came from Washington, DC. If you google

"Elder Lightfoot Solomon Michaux" you can get his bio from Wikpedia.

  • They're all on the other side now.

Does anyone know definitely what town this was recorded in?

  • Chorus:

Happy am I with my Redeemer

    Singing along the homeward way

And telling the lost (tell-) of (-ing) His (all) great love (the lost of His great mercy)

Happy am I to know He's with me (I'm always happy)

Keeping me spotless day by day (yes day by day)

I'm happy along (yes) the way (I'm happy) to heaven above (along the way, along the journey)

  • Here are Lyrics to hymn "Happy am I"

(Sounds like they're singing the version in parenthisis below)

Sweetly I trust in my Redeemer as I go singing on my way

So happy am I (yes so happy now), yes happy am I (very happy now)

Ever I know that He is with me, keeping my soul from day to day

So happy am I (happy now am I), yes happy am I (yes happy am I)

  • The brilliant Adam Gnade sent me here.
