The Apache wife singing a beautiful, haunting song: if the only good Indian is a dead Indian, why am I listening to her sing this lovely song?
-
"The blessings of civilization" as what is wrong rather than what upholds what is truly good: that points to racism being bad as it was socially acceptable. The Mexican man at the station whose Apache wife was "a little bit savage, I think" --that was also a denial of the racist attitudes of the audience.

The society was racist, and people took their racist attitudes for granted. Ford challenged that in many ways: using real indians many times, etc. Did you see Woody Strode, who was black, speaking Spanish and in the sombrero? That really challenged stereotypes.

@Androgenicus If you watch movies based on what their stars have said and done in their personal lives, then you won't be able to watch a sinlge movie again. No one's perfect, you dumb fuck.

EU RECOMENDO!!
