TheCopyandPasteKid: The EU commissioners may not be directly elected, but they are appointed by the MEPs (who are elected!!). And just because Hitler may have proposed it (I don't know the truth in that) doesn't mean it should be something scary. He also began the evolution of reliable train services, but I'm sure you don't run scared of scheduled train services.
