The reason people confuse Nature-based Paganism with Satanism is because in medieval times, the church, wanting to replace the Old Religion with their own, decided to portray all Pagan Deities and devotees, as being allied with, or the same as, their fantasy devil.
The Old Religion is much older than any form of male-dominated religion such as Judaism,Islam, Christianity or Satanism - and so, modern Pagans tend to view these religions as temporary and outdated.
