I guess a better title would be "Who sucks more at skateboarding than this guy?" lol.
I'm fat, clumsy, and lots of other bad things, but I DO have a knack for picking things up quickly. I "skateboarded" for like 2 years when Tony Hawk 2 came out and I discovered Rodney Mullen. But the whole time I was too scared to try to land the tricks. I was able to manipulate the board to kick, heel, varial, inward heel, tre, and all kinds of silly shove tricks, but I would never let both feet land on anything but ollies.
I've been back at trying to skate for about a week now, mostly on my yoga mat seen here, but I find it to be harder than outside on the concrete. The mat absorbs a lot of the pop of my ollie and the wheels really hold on to the surface, it's probably making me suck more. Especially considering I can't practice anything while moving, and my riding style is just plain challenged.
I ride with my left foot on the tail (goofy style) but I ollie with my right foot (regular). I've been taking [small] steps at reversing my riding stance to make tricks while moving more viable, but it's a lot harder than I expected it to be.
Anyway, post away, flame my obviously awful skating, or my silly hair sticking out of my hat. But I could really use some advice on specifically the kickflip, but any skating advice is appreciated!
