Sly was one of the greatest artist of the late 60's and 70's. The first time I saw Sly and the Family Stone was on the Mike Douglas show in 1968 singing Dance to the music. From then on I was a fan. The Poet symbolizes the type of society we live in here in the U.S. because we are so litigious. I was inspired to go to law school because of this song!
