Why not just create as smaller size machine that keeps your body nurished so you never have to eat again? But hey we all know the gov and military will get first dips on this stuff.. just like they had the remote control 20 years before it came out.. so think what they will be doing with it in that time.A prototype could be out now and we wouldnt know

12 years ago i read a paper in WIRED by William "Bill" JOY--the cool GENIUS of SUN Microsystems--(he's invented many things that effect the Net & everyday life; he's seen as guru-genius in computer circles)) He talked about DANGERS of upcoming scenario (in 20 years or so) as INDIVIDUALS will use Nanotech, computers, robotics & such to EASILY afford POWER--
especially WMD's, thus,
HOW to deal w- conflict when ANYONE can have tons of weapons?

Say goodbye to centralized manufacturing and all it entails. No workers of managers there. No need to transport raw materials to it or ship finished goods out. No need for retailers to sell the goods. No need for the retail shops either.
OMG, with no source of income how will people afford anything? Like what? The need for money for things will also be obsolete. People may charge for their services to obtain credit to pay other people for services to them.
