I made this military weave for my 7 yr old daughter and she received many complements. I LOVE this because it's not what every other young girl is wearing. Also, I've made it to place on french barrettes. It's very classy and elegant. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Yay!

I think it would make a wonderful bracelet. Just neatly sew the ends together. It has enough 'stretch' to it that it would easily slide over your wrist. If you make one, we'd love to see it. Stop over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Facebook page and add it in the photo section. :)

How much ribbon is used for the headband and the flip flops?

It's best to start off with ribbon lengths that are at least 5 times the length of what you want your finished braid to measure. No need to cut this length off if you have longer pieces. Just work off your spool or ribbon pieces until you reach the finished length you want and then cut the ribbon so there will be no waste.
