On the morning of May 2nd, with the ground completely snow-covered and a temperature of 28.4 degrees Fahrenheit, I awoke at 5:00 am and set up my JVC GZ-HM30 High Definition camcorder to do another timelapse. Over the course of the day the temperature steadily rose until it reached a high of 53.6 degrees Fahrenheit, a one day shift of 25 degrees. By the time I arrived home from work that day all the snow had melted and it was, in fact, a brilliant and beautiful Spring day.

This may not be a scintillating and engrossing piece of movie making, but as a record of a truly unusual day with a huge temperature swing, I hope you will find something of interest in it.

Again, and as always, thank you for taking the time to watch.

  • Great video! Although, I'm sorry to see it is still snowing in Canada. I just watched this in 720p and it looks great. I've been considering for some time the idea of getting myself a real camcorder. What's your experience been like so far with the HM30 ?

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus Thank you very much for the kind words. It really only snowed that one day and the snow melted the next. We haven't had any since then and it was up into the 70's a few days last week, Today is kind of gray and dreary and only in the fifties with a chance of frost tonight. I won't be putting my plants out in the garden until all chances of frost are past. Maybe the first week of June. In the meantime they love it where they are.

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus - As for the camcorder, I really like it. It's easy to use and small enough to carry around in a case on the belt-loop. I bought the biggest battery I could for it and use the tiny battery included only as a backup. My wife and I just came back from a trip to Napa California and I took videos throughout all on one charge. I have a series of videos I just uploaded about that trip and if you watch them you'll get an idea of the quality. Thx for watching and commenting.

  • Hey mate, another great time lapse video, you should do some more of these with your plants!

Thanks for uploading, they really are great to watch :)

  • @paulmtonkin - Thanks Paul. I really appreciate your very positive comments! I may do another time lapse of the plants, yet. It's always surprising how much they move.

  • Very cool!

  • @ratdavid9 -Thank you. I really appreciate the nice comment.

  • @boost808 - Unfortunately, no. There are no threads to add lenses or filters. It is really an entry level HD camcorder. For the price, it's really excellent, though. It is very easy to operate. It depends on what you want to use it for. Thanks for watching.

  • can you put a fish eye lens on this camera?

  • @cob4lyf04 - Ha ha. We like it when it disappears as fast as this snow did. For the most part it has actually been relatively nice and our forecast moving forward looks nice as well. Just a weak moment, you might say. Thank you very much for watching my video and taking the time to post a comment. It is so appreciated.
