Stef, you missed something about the media when mentioned. Its not that they have the power to do anything, i.e. move the populous to change things by reporting the truth. The media is often run by the state (Great Britain) or owned by people whom are involved with funding and receiving favors from the the state (in the U.S. i.e. NBC is owned by GE who's CEO is an advisor of Obama's and recives favors). The media can help make change but it in it self is often corrupt. Thanks for more GOOD STUFF

Categorizing military members as sociopaths is just wrong. If you want to say that sociopaths are drawn to the military, I'll agree. However, the vast majority of military members are just as law abiding as anyone else. I can't speak to the ethics of military life, as proper military behavior is incomprehensible to regular people. Still, a few bad apples doesn't spoil the bunch.

Stef, I have close relatives, younger than me, who just became police officers. They are optimistic, altruistic, humorous, creative, intelligent, and just plain good folks. They truly want to serve the public in the best sense of the word, and I know they have no sadistic tendencies. I see the statist meat grinder that they are going into but don't know how to express it in a way that will resonate. What approach should I take?

When it comes the police and military, I think like this. Say you move into a neighborhood to start a business. The local mafia tells you that they had an agreement with the former owners for "protection" costs. You refuse to pay, and can't leave as you just spent all your capital on this new home. They send a hitman, who is only doing his job to protect his families interest in the neighborhood. Would you blame the guy trying to kill you, even though he is only a lowly peon?...OF COURSE!

Considering the propensity of the police towards domestic violence, divorce, alcoholism and suicide, to what degree do the police personnel become clients of the mental health system? I imagine that they are much under-represented - the system operates without addressing statistical truth and is instead a tool of the state
