Oh god the noise: I swear it was on randomplay. (Admittedly the contents of said randomplay have some of... this!)
Stupid clan loki. At least a 100 ton kodiak can outrun it easily.
That's right, from the maker of the 70km/h atlas, comes the 70km/h kodiak! It actually has more tonnage after doing this too. In fact it's the highest tonnage mech at 70km/h. This was abused to great effect to give it nothing but reactive armor and a compact weapon array. But why make a tank that does no damage run 70km/h? Because it needs to be in front of:
The thunderbolt Masakari! Longbows can do it in mektek but only a Masakari can do it without mektek. As we all know, Hauptmanns are capable of mounting 3 thunderbolt launchers. Masakaris can do this too, but they can also hold a beagle active probe. Longbows can only do it in Mektek patch because of larger torso pods, and you can cut the armor from one arm for the needed tonnage. This Masakari has one heatsink, and runs 59km/h. Thunderbolts ignore all special armor reductions such as reactive or reflective.
Mech 4, I heard a rumor it might be going free. I don't know whether or not that's true, but there's certainly going to be a Mech 5. So I guess, if the rumor is true, people might want to know this stuff.
By the way, be careful when installing Clan Mechpack because it also installs C-Dilla which is a really old licensing system that is usually considered malware... which hardly matters because this drive is slated to be nuked in the near future.
Wow. You guys are using Kodiaks, Long Bows, Annihilators and Masakaris for this mission. When I did this mission I was in an Orion IIC and my lancemates included a Bushwacker and a Loki. :-(
The AI has only one assault (Aisa), and like any Clan warrior, I tried to drop fewer tonnage than the enemy. You guys are all for overkills, aren't you?

@iOnlySignIn You could always just use 8 hellhounds or something. They make devastating fast barrage mechs. 8 hellhounds is usually the fastest way to clear any mission that involves running anyways. But there's so many here in one place, it's faster to use assaults.
note to self: stop thinking about playing this again

Hey, you turned off your heat.
I like that.

Did not! It just cuts nonessential armor for engine power and heatsinks. Engine power for running nav points faster and getting quickly into mid laser range, as mid lasers are more efficient. Heatsinks to prevent those lasers from slowing the mech. These weapons, always in the spare tonnage from having the most barrage weapons possible. The mech gets in range, kills, and cools while chasing the next group of mechs. Works best in groups. Only one used here. Definitely single player only.

Oh. Well, the thing is, AI seems to lock on unusually quickly with thunderbolts. Also they never lose lock no matter how many things walk around or above them like humans do. That plus the fact that thunderbolts do something like 28 unreducable damage per 6.5s for 15 tons (always mount 45 rockets!) vs. 17 to 18 ballistic every 8s for 13-14 tons, makes thunderbolt the better choice for AI use. These are far from the highest DPS builds though, but I didn't want to use them here.

15 ton thunderbolts with 45 rockets? 16. I'm starting to forget how much things weigh.
