Contact 1 - Ape Man: Adventures In Human Evolution - BBC

This landmark series about the evolution of man answers fundamental questions. Who were our ancestors? When did they first walk the earth? Why did man survive when other species became extinct? These questions have inspired scientists throughout the ages to piece together the fragmentary clues the early humans left behind.

  • Thank you for sharing these videos! I love documentaries and the ones about the stone age and our ancestors are my favorites.

Neanderthals may not be extinct. They may be living in the in the wilds of Siberia. In the 1800s, there were stories of a white and black bear in Asia. Everyone thought that was a myth until pandas were discovered. Lloyd Pye made a video about this.

  • @valkanadimova Almost all of them were dead before Modern Humans entered Europe, check the news

  • @2mek8 Well I don't believe in any religion but I also don't think its over when we die. I don't think it will have anything to do with this way of living, I don't think you will remember anything, but I think existence or whatever you want to call it stretches further then the reality we know today. I don't think this al happens without a reason, everything happens with a reason. But what it is exactly I don't know (yet).

  • Trust me on this, when you accept that we only have one life, only one chance at living it makes life so much more valuable and meaningful than you could possibly imagine.

  • this is crazy man

    i really cant accept this

i mean i live to see the after life and thinking that when we die....we just die is VERY VERY hard to accept

    life has no meaning

    :(

  • We don't need Mozart's Symphony for an Ape Man documentary!

These producers must be going through menopause!

  • Hm, there are many Dutch scientists and experts in this documentary. I find that interesting because in the natural historic museum in Leiden (Naturalis, Leiden, the Netherlands) most of the experts quoted there about the origin of humans are English, Spanish, French and German.

  • A mitochondrial or y-chromosome analysis of the kid would be interesting.

  • @balcky666

Wow! You're making it seem as if they say that the Neanderthals descended from the sky in a wheel-in-a-wheel or something. Which part don't you agree with?

    Great documentary.

  • Maybe there was a Neanderthal Rapture and that's why they disappeared. Prove me wrong.
