Child abuse is a hot issue in South Korea
Seong-Min died at daycare in 2007 In medical exam, child abuse is strongly suspected from existence of multiple bruises of various stages over his body, intestinal transection and defense injuries
Seong-Min's brother, the only witness clearly watched the horrible child abuse scenes
There're so many things fishy behind Seong-Min's death, such as, First, placing the dead baby boy into hospital refrigerator without family's consent, Second, carrying him from Oul-San-city to the distant Kyung-Ju where Chae(director) and Nam(Chae's husband)are having good connections
The little baby boy, Seong-min was still alive in agony for a couple of days since abused by Nam But they only took his brother to hospital who had no physical problem then, not Seong-Min dying which I think they must have been in deliberate intent to cover up his death
Many Koreans were very outraged again about the court decision on March 27 in 2008 - each of them: 1 and a half years in jail(the previous court decision in 2007 was 1 year in jail)
Many Korean citizens have been gathered since his death to support Seong-Min's family and implored the court and the government to give the right judgement for the trial
The government must do something to protect children in safe like CCTV setup at daycare/nursery, introducing jury system to all child abuse trials, and hotline with officials to investigate crimes including the cause for Seong-MIn's death

Seong Min's death was a huge trigger against Korea's child abuse especially to mothers having children and also strengthen up much effort to appeal to the court against the light penalty of the director and her husband who are under the charge of child abuse, leading the baby boy to death eventually But as all Koreans know, the effort turned out useless, whenever I watch a little baby online, my hearts go out to him

the supreme court just sentenced them only 1 year and a half in jail again which means my country isn't still up to par for the matters of child abuse and really need to make more accessible systems and measures for children's safety in any places

Under the current situation, another baby boy died at nursery early this year with similar symptoms like Seong Min, who died at daycare last year, at the age of 23months
